Setup Types

The Setup Types view allows you to take the features you created in the Features view and organize them into setup types. Setup types are the various configurations in which the setup can install your application. For example, many of your users may have limited hard drive space and may not want all the bells and whistles installed. If this is the case, they can choose the Minimum setup type, which should be designed to install only those features that are absolutely necessary for your application to run. Your cutting-edge multimedia tutorials won't usually be included in this group.

By default, the three setup types are Typical, Minimal, and Custom. You may rename these setup types, deselect them so that they are not included in your setup, and change which features they install, but you cannot add new setup types to your setup. Note that in the Custom setup type, the user can select which features they want to install, regardless of which features you've selected as defaults.

See Setup Types for more information.
